added two more screenshots to - the "root" post view is incorrect, but when reply-on-reply, information goes up-then-down.

root post view IS correct, sorry.

I understand your confusion, but that's the formatting - quoted parent is below the child post - then that post's replies follow in the discussion view. The top post is always quoting its parent below it, the different bg makes it distinct. Just need to get used to it, same on X.

There really is no other way to include the parent otherwise, you have to break the hierarchy at some point, the other form would need to omit the parent body and show a 'parent' link but we want to include its body.

…

and moving the quoted above would break the consistency with the actual feed posts which would make it way more confusing.

This SM is like a subreddit feed, except you also get a personalized feed along with 'hot' and 'latest' for people you follow. Or maybe it's modelled after twitter? Never used it so wouldnt know

Just found a nice patch of sun in a comfy spot on the couch. Maybe cats do have some things worked out.

How did all the tech oligarchs seem to go fash so quickly?

Gloriously cool, clear morning here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina ☀️ 😌

I'm heading to Isle of Palms for a long weekend soon. Should be a great trip!

Definitely nice beach weather right now, hope you have safe travels and enjoy!

wow!! I'm in NC personally 😅

I used to go to NC every summer -- had family near Jacksonville. They moved back to the North Country last year. Very pretty state you've got there.

There's a few things I'd put at the top of my "things-I-least-expect" list, among which are readers on my little blog. 61 unique reads, wowee!

The Perfect Hiring System

hello world!

It is troubling watching the news today from the elections in Germany. Yes, it is democratic and absolutely fair elections and the people of Germany make their own choice in their situation. Still, seeing the far right gaining so much ground in Germany brings your thoughts some 90 years back. Let’s hope and pray Germany is not going there again.

I whipped up a quick report in this morning.

Changed my theme to dracula! Love it. This site is such a blessing.

Bonnie Raitt stuck in my head, who, by some definition, is a nepo baby, but well before the term was coined. I think the problem is obv not family businesses, but a shrinking pool of opportunities for those without a prebuilt network to inherit (or buy).

This is another way to describe "increasing wealth inequality".
