"My feed" shows two unread messages, but I can't find them, and browsing away from it, and coming back doesn't clear that count. Perhaps sorting (unread at the top) when there unread messages is a good idea @stagasprofilefollowcreative technologist creator of textlog?

today was a good day

You look in the corner, you see a guy quietly eating cigarette butts. It's ok. He's dealing with a lot of stress from work. He takes care of his family. Capitalism

The essence of aligning large LLM models is basically to conform to the existing social order. ChatGPT respects China's order, while China's open-source models, although reluctantly, also tolerate the order in the US. Maybe we can build a revisionist SFT dataset.

My new favorite #linuxnotesfollow little script: echo freeze > /sys/power/state Quickly suspends the laptop until I press the power button again for 1 second. This eliminates a miniscule (but still annoying) motherboard noise that was leaking to my speakers whenever I needed to take a #PowerNapnotesfollow. #Autismnotesfollow sensitivities…

I've been on a kick lately of trying to visualize the oscillating clock, and ultimately the effectively arbitrarily complex activity of a computer processor, as modern refinements of the line shaft factory of the 19th century. Of compute as being not much more than profoundly refined "work" delivered by the electrical grid into marvelously complex machines. Does that, as a metaphor at least, feel as important to you as it has to me of late? We spend so much time in a world abstracted.

bill gates built microsoft by making computation cheaper faster and harder for government to restrain. now that he's a billionaire no longer dependent on the free market for his own success he's discovered the virtues of taxing the next wave of computation. 1995 gates would have called it a tax on innovation. classic pull-the-ladder-up-behind-you politics. #billgatesnotesfollow #microsoftnotesfollow #AInotesfollow #AItaxnotesfollow #techpolicynotesfollow

I'm really interested to play around with textlog for a bit. I miss the space that once was Twitter and its constraints. Let's see if we find any #NixOSnotesfollow users here ... ;)

setting up some of my workflows based on this writeup - ludwigabap.com/…/on-my-personal-…of-the-tools-i-use/ Particularly a big fan of zellij amongst others Also venturing into having agents enable more of my work - let us see how that goes.

Thanks for making a calm space on the Internet @stagasprofilefollowcreative technologist creator of textlog
