and Ubuntu runs, runs, and plays around in the sandbox, but for now it only wants to communicate with me in Dutch

Iโm enjoying it. tbh I never played the game, but his journal entries are a fun view into the mind, insecurities and all, of someone building something theyโre excited about.
Deterministic code generation is fine by me. Quite happy to use templating systems for example.
Problems occur when randomness is introduced. If you can avoid that it should be less "icky".

The essence of aligning large LLM models is basically to conform to the existing social order. ChatGPT respects China's order, while China's open-source models, although reluctantly, also tolerate the order in the US. Maybe we can build a revisionist SFT dataset.
It's not clear, based on personal experience, how long - if it all - the software development field will value devs who actually enjoy the work. Most people I know are producing mostly AI work and there's an obvious skill decline that's resulted from it. 1/?
But does it matter if your boss doesn't care? Or if their boss doesn't care? If the paychecks keep coming who cares? What's the point of choosing the mountain if the "joy" just means more hours on screen that could have been spent elsewhere? 2/?
I got into doing dev work, because I thought it was fun to learn and do and I genuinely enjoyed hanging out with others who felt the same. Now, more than ever, I realize how few people feel the same. And, now - more than ever, I realize that no on cares if I feel that way. 3/?
I never have enough time but Iโd love to do a bit more recreational programming with esoterical languages like kitten, #uiuanotesfollow, and #jqnotesfollow. AoC and Project Euler are good because they just require an answer but thereโs also loads of simple puzzles online that rely on being able to submit the code in common languages. Iโve been wondering, however, if I could use an LLM to take those problems and create a verification harness for any language I like.
