there are reasons to procrastinate. sometimes you are not ready for a task and it has to ripen on the back of your had. sometimes you don't have structure and are not organised. sometimes you might be overwhelmed by too many tasks.

make a schedule and only try to get one or two things done per day. productivity is not about getting more done for the sake of it. it's about getting to what is important for you.

Found a "pomidoro" playlist on Spotify with 25 minutes of lofi music, then an "alarm" and 5 minutes of upbeat. Nice idea.

A credit union wants to get their own data out of a vendor's online system. Vendor wants $160,000. I wrote a script with to download the data just as though a user would. It's going to run for about 6 weeks to download around 250k records and 70GB of images.

you could split to buckets like alphanumerically and parallelize it if you don't want to wait that long. Probably need to launch a few instances but still cheaper lol.

The slowness is intentional. I wanted to make it look more like a user doing it than a script so it doesn't set off any alarms. I have it waiting from 1 to 3 seconds between clicks to slow it down. :-) So far so good!

I'm so fed up with the series of tabloid articles claiming Koji was a stand-in actor in koitoki. the 'insider' seems to be part of the staff since they had access to details like the location of the wrap-up party. Idc who they are and how true their information is, the intention is obviously malicious. it's just disappointing that a person like that is blending in with the people my oshi works with, viewing him as nothing more than a subject to sell to trash tabloids.

the fact that these articles completely contradict official content is reason enough to ignore them. for instance, the article claimed Koji wasn't as cheerful as usual, yet the crank-in footage with Mone-chan was filled with laughter, and she even explicitly called him the mood maker of the set. they also claimed he joined filming late, contradicting the fact that they all met at the initial script reading. plus, on sunomanma, Raul even mentioned seeing the original drama proposal early on.

an official article from the director confirming he sent the offer to Koji after seeing his performance in 'fake mommy' is the only thing we should believe. behind-the-scenes details that aren't officially shared shouldn't be treated as truth. I don't understand why they're so persistent about how Koji got the role. why not direct that focus toward the one prominent cast member with a history of racism and misogyny? that's the only valid reason to feel uncomfortable about this drama.

So we can't use em dash anymore — lest we anger the mob. Truth be told though, English teachers have always discouraged em dash overuse because it is a subtle art and very easy to get wrong.

The funny thing is that in the UK, we don't really use the em dash anyway. We use the hyphen (I guess en dash?) with a space each side. So the em dash has always looked a bit odd to us... 😊

There are dashes (-), as well as en dashes (–), and there are em dashes (—), not to miss the mighty center dot (•) that looks like a perky boob when surrounded by brackets haha

Just get and read Chicago Manual of Style, or Oxford Style Manual if you so prefer, and you’re all set to use the various dash’es (and many other things).

There’s other dashes to pick if you want to steer clear of the almighty em dash!

The anti-slop mob is tiresome. With a careful and appropiate use of ai it is possible to make a lot of interesting stuff. And I hate even more when the mob "profs" that the text is ai using those ai detectros that can't detect ai.
