Makes sense to me, though I think one important (IMO) aspect of this evolutionary role is incurring liabilities. Yes, software can be created by a wider audience, but when things go awry, would they have the aptitude or contingencies in place to recover and take responsibility?

Maintenance of software/systems was a mere after thought in my experience. Adding new things made careers, bonuses etc. so there was no real incentives for maintenance. The article argues that LLMs will do it. I'll believe if and when I see it.

Totally, I'm glad they're at least trying something new (for Apple). It just underscores the general failure of imagination vibes I get from everything in tech nowadays. Most of the industry is breathlessly chasing a 20th century "golden age of scifi" vision of AI. And Apple's over there diligently trying to improve upon other companies' products from five years ago. At least no one's talking about the metaverse anymore.

Piflux is a coding workflow. You can steer software development by running commands that issue reasonably general prompts. /plan, /code, /review I created this because I find it very useful to have different models/ perform each of those tasks in isolated sessions. Ansible just melds with my way of thinking better. I have a really hard time wrapping my head around nested loops in HCL and the overall "ugliness" of the language. Plus, I kind of like being in control of the order things are created.
