Deterministic code generation is fine by me. Quite happy to use templating systems for example. Problems occur when randomness is introduced. If you can avoid that it should be less "icky".

Last year I wasn't feeling too good. I turned forty, waited for surgery, and was hurt by my own colleagues. So I dealt with things. Maybe not so well, but to the best of my ability. One of the consequences was that I got a bit heavy. My body changed, and I didn't feel like myself. It was a problem for future me. So now I am here with this little belly of mine. Makes sense to me, though I think one important (IMO) aspect of this evolutionary role is incurring liabilities. Yes, software can be created by a wider audience, but when things go awry, would they have the aptitude or contingencies in place to recover and take responsibility?

Maintenance of software/systems was a mere after thought in my experience. Adding new things made careers, bonuses etc. so there was no real incentives for maintenance. The article argues that LLMs will do it. I'll believe if and when I see it.

Architect/lead have a pre-refinement with product to clear 80% of the obvious questions. We share an agenda, devs can ask questions async. In the refinement product presents, we design a solution draft. 15 minutes/item. This doesn't work if product is incompetent and everything is AI-slopped.

In China, I am practically independent of the government; I don't participate in any activities based on my status, such as formal work or online shopping.
