and it's all

hey peeps.

Job I was hoping for gave me the "we found another applicant" treatment. I don't begrudge them for that, since I know I had a 'less than adequate initial coding interview. But still, it stings and sucks. Hopefully my other interviews yield better results...

Wish you luck! Personally, I can't even land an interview these days -get rejected on the spot, so that's a feat on its own.

Hi =)

👋 hi! welcome

…

hi

bonjour

It seems I can post in Chinese. Because I don't have an ID card, I can't have a phone number, and therefore can't register a stable email address, which means I can't register on content platforms or publish content. Hotmail frequently blocks my email account because I don't have a stable IP address, so my Mastodon account can't be used long-term. I hope this is a place where I can publish content consistently.

嗯，好吧，为了你自己，我希望它能持续很长时间。你的互联网问题很难解决，非常抱歉！ :-(

Well, okay, for your own sake, I hope it lasts a long time. I'm so sorry your internet problem is so difficult to fix! :-(

谢谢你，没想到还真有人回我的帖子，我在互联网上至少几年没和人对话过了

Thank you. I didn't expect anyone to actually reply to my post. I haven't had a conversation with anyone online for at least several years.

很高兴成为很久以来的第一个人之一，我的朋友！好好的，周末愉快！原谅我的小错误，我正在用翻译来回复。我们都知道大多数时候都不太好。

So happy to be one of the first people to reply in a long time, my friend! Have a good weekend! Please forgive my little mistake, I'm replying using a translation. We all know things aren't always great.

sorry, what kind of contents are welcomed in this site?

I am sure pretty much everything that isn’t criminal, abusive, or illegal. I know those definitions vary from country to country. Just be a good human, and you should be OK.

created a quiz:

Which of these existed first?

tech influencers on twitter: god i hate interacting with other people. i love my new bot that does it for me. life is so much better now that im just telling bots what to do and not talking to people. i can’t wait for everyone to be bots!

Who needs sleep anyways, right? ×_×

i hate people who answer for me because im midway getting edged for a sneeze

Things I'm enjoying lately: Vampire Survivors + Diablo IV Alien + Dune ambiance Howling Dark book 2 of Sun Eater great TV

Current aliases: # The canonical tug tug = ["bookmark", "move", "--from", "closest_bookmark(@-)", "--to", "@-"] # Show my current work-in-progress(es). To wip it, whip it good. wips = ["log", "-r", "bookmarks() | description(exact:'')"]

I've found myself really liking the "megamerge" workflow. Not an alias, just a whole thing.

Can't say I'm surprised there are . Related: stop platforming DHH.

Textlog seems pretty cool 😎

every society gets the kind of criminals it deserves.

whats the point of url shorteners in 2026

I think short urls are still memorable and good. My phone doesn't surrogate all of my recall.

Short URLs are good. Memorable URLs are good. URLs spat out by URL shorteners are something entirely different.

Ah, the randomly generated ones. Yeah, agreed.

The longer the text you need to store, the bigger a QR code needs to be in order to scan reliably. Also, you might be more confident in being able to keep a short URL stable (it's already a step of indirection, so if you want to reorg your site you can just update where the short URL points to). But people don't really take care to maintain short URLs anyway, apparently.

Counting clicks, although probably not all that accurate with bot clicks

Also Short.io gives you a sub domain which is pretty nice adamspaul.short.gy/notes

Hi, this is my first time here. Are there any rules here?

you do not talk about textlog

dont use the n word and thats it

been building a voice first os using jev and some small voice models. I'm surprised how well it's working and I'm very close to the point where I can go into a feedback mode and tell it what behavior I want changed, it will spin up Claude or codex inside itself and setup the build to restart itself and continue with new code. tempted to let it build itself completely

It sounds amazing! A voice first OS was also in my mind. Curious to hear more!
